The Alchemy

“Brand” means an intentional identity that runs right to the core of who we are, what we want to build, who we serve, and how we show up naturally and powerfully. Today the word “Psyche” is more commonly constrained to the mind, but we prefer to infuse it with the older Greek definition which encompasses soul, mind, and spirit. Brands infused with BrandPsyche archetypes are impactful, engaging, focused, and magnetic.

The Tale

A few years ago, Tyler Massie had an idea about archetypes. He had been interested in Carl Jung and the collective unconscious for some time, and had been experimenting with different concepts, as one does. After reading his grandfather’s copy of The Hero’s Journey, he realized there was a connection between storytelling and archetypes. Storytelling added a magical dimension of time to the traditionally rigid concept of archetypes that made them come to life.

We are all walking our hero’s journey in business, he thought. We overlap with our business, but our business is still a form of expression that takes on life outside of our concept of Self. Everything is in motion. These thoughts had a curious effect. He started seeing archetypes everywhere – in his clients, in his favourite movies and books, in personal relationships, and stories about notable people. He started sharing his ideas with others. Their eyes glazed over. He felt like he was holding out a magic bean he had unearthed – such a rare and magical object. But no one else could see it for what it was.

The rest is history. Having enthusiastically taken the red pill, Brittany was whooshed into a new perspective that took her writing to a new level. Her clients noticed the shift in how the words she crafted landed more deeply with them and with their clients. Shivers and happy tears ensued, and there was much rejoicing. With clever words combined with a clever framework that runs deeper and more expansively with every Friday afternoon conversation, BrandPsyche was born and continues to grow.
